The Alan James Band
Alan James Hutchinson is a proficient vocalist, guitarist and song writer. For the last 39 years, he has been performing professionally, both as a lead guitarist/vocalist and acoustic soloist. His music is heard on Radio stations throughout the world in countries such as France, Belgium, Germany, Australia, and the U.S. Alan has performed throughout the U.S. from Connecticut, Nantucket Island, Virginia, Florida, Chicago, Nashville, CA, and Arizona, and has opened for many well-known performers such as Joan Jett, B.T.O., Michael Bolton, Jefferson Starship and Rick Derringer. While in Chicago, Alan performed with many renowned blues men such as Willie (Big Eyes) Smith (Muddy Waters' drummer for 19 years) and bassist Kenny Kinsey, son of Big Daddy Kinsey. In 1991 the world famous Blue Bird Cafe in Nashville, commissioned Alan to perform his original compositions for a national televised airing of an episode for " 48 hours". On his CD, "Alan James Break the ice" performing, are some of the Americas' top session players, including : Dee Murray, bassist from Elton John, Roy Yeager drummer for the Atlanta Rhythm Section, and Jim Horn, renowned session sax player from the Traveling Wilburys, Although Alan has written and performed a variety of songs ranging from folk to rock to jazz fusion, his current musical aspirations lie in the blues and folk genres. Currently, Alan is pursuing his career performing a solo acoustic act and an electric blues/rock act.
