Personal Bio
While it is a weird thing to have to write something like this, I accept that you will have very little interest in caring about what I have to say if you have no idea who I am. With that in mind, here is more information about me than you would ever want.
First, I am struggling to live my life as a disciple of Jesus Christ. I would stress the word struggling in that sentence because I am still learning to put on the character of Christ. Theologian and philosopher Dallas Willard wrote that the only thing we have to offer God at the end of our lives is who we have become. That fact reminds me to let go of all the junk that I cling to and focus on growing in my relationship with God. It is a difficult journey - but well worth the struggle.
I am married to my best friend, Stacy - a righteous, drop-dead gorgeous woman whose patience and mercy know no bounds. We have three children - twin boys, Nathanael and Samuel, and a little girl Abigail. I could write pages and pages of what God has taught me and how he has loved me through my family - but for now, just know that I am outrageously blessed and happy to tell you more if you care to ask.
I am a worship minister called to serve the church. For the last seven years, that call has placed me in the New Heights community at Alamo Heights Methodist Church as a leader and a teacher. In addition to the ministry at New Heights, Stacy and I work through Chapter Three Ministries in an effort to serve the Church - the global body of Christ. Since 1996, we have served in ministry teams from College Station, Texas, to Guyana, South America. C3M allows us to serve wherever we are needed and called - including Kairos Prison Ministry, Walk to Emmaus, Chrysalis, Alpha Bible Study and various other mission, charity and community events.
Last, I am a songwriter. I have been writing and playing music most of my life. For reasons unknown to me, God continues to bless this area of my life and ministry. I have had the privilege of recording and performing the music and messages that I feel need to be heard. In doing so, I have had the honor of serving and working with some ridiculously talented artists and amazing worshipers.
Q: Where did you grow up?
A: Although I spent a significant chunk of my childhood in west Texas I claim the San Antonio area as home. Specifically, Boerne - just north of San Antonio is where I attended and graduated high school...
