Bio (Switch)
Dave Berdoulay / North Forty
I'm a singer/songwriter in southeastern Pennsylvania, writing for about thirty years now. Most of what you hear is with our band "North Forty" with my brother Alan on lead guitars, Sharon Gould on bass, and Brad Fish on drums. I' m singing and playing acoustic guitar.
Our first C.D. titled " Raised On Reverb" was recorded at Target Studios and produced by Marc Moss. The songs range in style from americana, rock, and alternative country. The C.D. has been well recieved locally and has had some local air play. We are always working on new material and hope to be back in the studio in 2009.
If you like Alternative Country listen to "Leave It Alone", " New Thing Comin'" or "I Know What Love Was". For a little harder edge check out "Without A Net", "Firin' Line" or "Don't You Love Me". "All Your Heart" has been called "country blues".
Singer/Songwriter, Americana, may apply to all the songs in general.
North Forty
North Forty is a guitar based band from southeastern Pennsylvania formed around the songs of singer songwriter Dave Berdoulay.
In 2004 Dave and his brother Alan were in Target Studios with producer Marc Moss recording the basic tracks to what would become North Forty's first C.D. titled "Raised On Reverb" . There they were introduced to drummer Brad Fish who soon expressed his interest in Dave's music and suggested getting bass player Sharon Gould to join them and practice the music for a few months before returning to the studio to complete the album together.
Dave and Alan soon realised they had found two musicians who shared thier vision of how Dave's songs should sound. With Alan on lead guitars, pedal steel guitar and dobro, they returned to the studio and were able to capture twenty plus songs done in a live set up. Out of these, eleven were selected for the album. Only two of these have any over dubbing.
The band's sound has been described as Americana, Roots Rock and Alternative Country. The album has been well recieved locally and has had local airplay . North Forty Is always working on new material and will return to the studio in 2009 to record thier second album of new songs.
