Obsessed In A Good Way

I’ve been obsessed with music ever since 2000 when I changed my major to music. In 2003 I received my Bachelor of Music degree in composition. Since graduation, I’ve been performing locally at places such as the Embassy Suites, Mississippi Pizza and Borders Books and Music. I won an Honorable Mention in the 2004 Billboard Song Contest for my pop composition “Dream” and have become a member of TAXI and ASCAP.

My music mostly focuses on the unanswered questions that we all ask ourselves. Thinking about a long lost or unrequited love, not knowing what direction to take, or even discovering the person that you have become; these are all things that we struggle with each day and I have tried to express my feelings on them as best I can the only way I know how; through words and music.

My biggest influences are extremely diverse. I listen to everything from Tori Amos to Alice in Chains to the Gypsy Kings. My favorite album is Jude’s No One Is Really Beautiful and my favorite song (of all time) is Simon and Garfunkel’s “Scarborough Fair”. I love world music as well. Lately I’ve been obsessed with Native American drumming and Balinese music; especially Gamelans.

I love music and have devoted my life to learning everything there is to know about it. I have been constantly improving my skills as a songstress and I will never give up “the bug”. I am focused, capable and determined to succeed in making music my career.
