Tom Sparks

Tom Sparks is a Chicago-area musician, songwriter and producer, who has written, performed, recorded and produced hundreds of songs with many different artists throughout his musical career.

An accomplished musician, Tom has played drums, guitar, bass and keyboards in many Chicago-area bands over his career. In 1998, he decided to stop playing live gigs and concentrate solely on the one thing he enjoys most – collaborating with others to write and record original songs to market them to other artists, producers, publishers and music libraries within the Music Industry. Since that time, he’s worked with some truly outstanding songwriters and performers, including Kim Stewart, Melissa Richard, Diane Richardson, Teri Weston, John Calabrese, Lori Clark, Rik Mallin, The Garritys, Jill Dawson, Melody Mallin, Stacy Donahue and Andi Morici.

As a member of Taxi, Tom has had a quite a few songs forwarded to publishers and recording artist representatives, and has landed a number of publishing deals. In addition to being a Taxi member, Tom is an active member of The Chicago Songwriters Collective, Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI), and a voting member of The Recording Academy. He likes great, well-crafted songs more than any particular musical genre, and always likes to try something new in order to make the song more memorable for the listener.

Andi Morici - Stacy Donahue

Andi Morici

Andi writes, records and performs her Contemporary Christian, Pop and Country songs to various audiences in the Chicago-area. Her songs feature interesting lyrics and memorable melodies, making her a crowd favorite whenever she performs. And the best thing for Andi’s audiences is that she knows writing great songs is a never-ending learning process. Andi’s musical journey started at the age 2 when she assigned a melody line to her brother instead of calling him by name. And when her church asked her to join their children’s choir at the age of 5, she knew that music would play a large part in her life. At age 10, Andi became a member of “Kids Spectacular”, a group that performed 4-part harmony songs and professionally choreographed routines throughout Illinois as well as on local television (e.g., they sang the “Grand March for Kids” on Bozo’s Circus). The experience of performing over 100 shows a year at such a young age further solidified the role music was to play in Andi’s life.

Her parents enrolled her in the Chicago Academy for the Performing Arts during sophomore year of High School, where she learned music theory, art and dance. Her class got a chance to perform a song they wrote for Oprah Winfrey in appreciation of Oprah’s donation to the school after seeing how their curriculum developed the student’s talents.

Andi then became lead vocalist for the Christian Rock group “Crusade” but reluctantly left the group to go to college. While attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Andi majored in Music Education with a focus on vocal instruction. She also found time to play viola and piano while participating in the school’s premier “Concert Choir”, singing both Alto and Mezzo Soprano.

Since college, she has found joy in teaching music to grammar school students while still performing as a soloist and pianist with various church groups. Andi lives in the soutwest suburbs of Chicago with her husband Tony and 2 children, where she continues to write, record and perform her songs.

Stacy Donahue

Very few people go through life doing what they feel they are meant to do; Stacy Donahue is one of those fortunate few. Seemingly born to sing, she’s jumped at the opportunity to perform, both nationally and internationally, with choirs and musical productions at every stage of her educational and musical career.

A classically trained music educator, Stacy spent her first two years after college graduation teaching in the public schools of her native Nebraska before choosing to follow her own serendipitous musical path, first to Chicago and then to Nashville.

A multi-dimensional artist, Stacy’s passion for singing may only be matched by her enthusiasm for songwriting. It was with a song she wrote herself that she was selected as a finalist from the Chicago-area to compete and perform in the Colgate Country Showdown at Country Thunder 2004 in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin. Stacy outperformed all other individual performers, taking third place behind two band acts. Nashville was waiting. She spent two years playing gigs down on “Broadway” before deciding to truly take control of her career. While many singers in Nashville are content to make due with the talent they have, Stacy has chosen to take time off from the stage to hone her skills. “I recently read a quote that said ‘the only way to predict the future is to create it,’” Stacy says. “And that’s exactly what I’m doing every single day.” A piano player since the age of 8, Stacy took up guitar over a year ago, and now spends her time practicing, writing music with some of the industry’s most established names, and performing demos.

Inspired by Whitney Houston, Amy Grant, Mariah Carey, Martina McBride, and the indomitable Faith Hill – all women with big voices and phenomenal careers – Stacy is driven to be not just a singer, but an entertainer. “Music is my love,” she says. “I look forward to waking up everyday and getting to do exactly what I feel like I am here to do – share music with people.”
