biography of zaodust

Who is zaodust you ask? zaodust is a rock-based artist otherwise known as R. Dennis Hughett, Jr. Born from blood, sweat and years of previous band experiences and a passion for music. A guitarist at his core, he's developed a skill set that includes voice, piano, bass, drums, writing, recording and sound engineering.

With a musical history spanning over 20 years, he's developed a solid technique and talent. "Yes, everything has been done before, but every individual has a touch all their own - that unique touch is what I bring to the table." explains zaodust. "That is what makes my music my own."

A self-taught musician, zaodust began his musical journey by writing music. Drawing from musical inspiration, he has always written his own music rather than learning cover songs. The musical style of zaodust can best be compared to that of Neal Schon with more of a hard rock edge. They both share rock roots and both mix-in some jazz influence at times as well.

The latest musical endeavor of zaodust is currently in progress. He's finishing up the one and only album recorded by Shadow Life, a band he founded in 2003 that mutually disbanded in early 2007. This Shadow Life recording (tentatively titled "Common Ground") is very important to zaodust as it is a culmination of music written by him over the years. A celebration of his past as he begins a new journey as a solo artist.

zaodust's vision and focus for his solo career is to continue writing and recording music as well as develop solid relationships with music insiders who have the need for music placement in mixed mediums. His intent is to be one of their "go-to" artists.
