Miranda Frigon Bio

Born and raised in Canada, Miranda has been writing and playing music since age 8. She studied classical piano growing up and years later was self taught on the guitar. Miranda studied as a theatre major at the University of Alberta before receiving a scholarship to the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC where she trained in Musical Theatre. Having worked as a child actor since the age of 8, a recurring role on a Disney series brought her back to Canada where she worked successfully as an actor in Vancouver, B.C. for the next 8yrs all the while touring with her band around Vancouver and Alberta. She developed a great following both from her music alone and from her film and television fan base. After filming 13 episodes of a network U.S. series shot in Canada, she received an entertainment visa from both her reputation as a singer/songwriter and actress and relocated to Los Angeles, where she formed a new band and a new following of fans. Miranda is currently starring in the SyFy series Primeval: New World which is the #1 show in the UK at the moment and has been picked up in 21 other countries and counting. It will air in the U.S. in June 2013. She is also known for her role as Janice Wayne on the hit CW / CBC drama "Heartland". Her work as an actress has connected her to some of the biggest music supervisors in the business and often has requests to write and submit music to their shows. Her original songs have been placed on network television on the CW, FOX, Paramount, UPN, SyFy, SPACE, The CBC, WATCH (UK) and numerous feature films. Miranda is currently in the early stages of recording her newest album and is writing specifically for film and television projects and advertising campaigns. Her fan base continues to grow from the songs she has featured on hit shows.
