Gary A Piatt
Gary vividly recalls the music influence of his Grandfather. As a young child his grandfather picked him up and sat him on the organ bench to listen as he played tunes like, "There is a Tavern in the Town", and "Beautiful Dreamer". Thus the seeds of music were firmly established in his life at a very young age.
The music seeds began to grow and take shape in a variety of choirs, bands, jazz ensambles, and eventually in a Lehigh Valley rock band called Just Friends.
Music has always been a strong part of Gary's life, but it became his passion through his vocation as an Ordained Pastor as a way to transform the feelings of life's experiences into the sounds and shapes of Instrumental Music.
Laura was a young 19 year old who was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. Bravely, she moved through the surgeries and treatments that followed. Laura was the best friend of Gary's daughter, Tanya. Their friendship through the harsh realities and fears of cancer became the inspiration of Ode to Laura and Theme for Tanya.
Gary uses many such stories to guide him in the creation of his music, expressing in sound the passions of the heart -- love, struggle, fear, pain, joy, and celebration.
